1Delta Discovery Picnics allow the community to visit the Nueces Delta Preserve and former school field trip participants to come explore a little more. During this once-per-month open to the public event, come enjoy the sights and sounds of these protected estuary habitats. 
The dates & times are as follows:

Fall 2024
September 14: “Estuaries Alive!” 11 a.m. – 2 p.m.
October 12: “Fall Migration” 11 a.m. – 2 p.m.
November 9: “Animal Tracks” 11 a.m. – 2 p.m.
December 14: “Nature Photography”  11 a.m. – 2 p.m.

Special Evening Program
January 11, 2025: “Star Party!” 5:00pm – 8:00 p.m.

Spring 2025
 February 8: “Sheltering in Winter” 11 a.m. – 2 p.m.
March 8: “Pollinator Invitation”  11 a.m. – 2 p.m.
April 12: “Spring Migration” 11 a.m. – 2 p.m.

Summer 2025
May 10, 2025: “Wildflowers & Thorns” 5:30 – 8:30 p.m.
June 14, 2025: “Crepuscular Creepers” 5:30 – 8:30 p.m.
July 8, 2025: “Summer Survival” 5:30 – 8:30 p.m. 

Please bring a picnic lunch, picnic blanket, sunscreen/bug repellent, and plenty of water for everyone. Staff will be scattered around the area to answer questions and give background information on plants, animals, and the stories of these spaces.
