Growing Up WILD (GUW) – May 31, 2024 from 8:30 – 12:30 – This workshop suits early childhood, summer, or adaptive education programs. GUW engages learners through interactive lessons including outdoor explorations, scientific inquiry, art projects, music and movement, conservation activities, reading and math connections and “Healthy Me” extensions. Come enjoy the beautiful Nueces Delta Preserve and earn SBEC approved credits. This TEKS-aligned half-day workshop is FREE and includes lunch. Registration is now open.
Wildflowers & Thorns – April 6, 2024 from 8:30 – 3:00 – Plant adaptations are such an accessible and observable subject for every grade level and South Texas provides many examples. Come and learn basic plant families and their common characteristics as well as some of the unusual adaptations plants have developed to survive in our harsh ecosystems. This one-day, TEKS-aligned workshop includes lunch.
Science in the Schoolyard – Explore ways you can develop your students’ process skills like a mini-field trip in the nearby nature of your own campus. Sharpen observation and inferencing with TEKS – aligned, cross-curricular activities. This one-day workshop runs from 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and includes lunch.
TEXAS AQUATIC SCIENCE DAY – Whether you teach a full day of Aquatic Science or related subjects, this workshop offers educators an opportunity to be the ones conducting aquatic science field investigations focused on the Texas Aquatic Science TEKS-aligned curriculum. Connect and collaborate with other educators throughout the Coastal Bend. This one-day workshop runs from 8:30 a.m. – 3 p.m. and includes lunch. There will be an optional opportunity Saturday morning to explore additional area wetland habitats.
Growing Up WILD – Growing Up WILD invites you to explore and share the fascinating world of wildlife and ecosystems using fun, hands-on educational activities. You will experience engaging TEKS-aligned curriculum while networking with other educators. This one-day workshop runs from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and includes lunch.
